Debbie Jew is a professional commercial artist based in Tunbridge Wells. She has taken a sidestep from illustration and mural painting to producing a series of vibrant portraits in oil. In this debut exhibition she explores the various methods of dealing with or overcoming life's obstacles, whether they be inward emotional struggles or external challenges. Surreal and symbolic elements are used to communicate what is at the heart of an individual's everyday survival, be it subconscious habitual coping mechanisms or deliberate bold action.
